As the systems regenerate at night but exhaustion can occur before this, we recommend a safety factor
of 0.95 up to 18 °dH and 0.90 from a raw water hardness of 19°dH and higher.

72: 10°dH = 7200 litres of soft water x 0.95 = 6840 litres of soft water
