19 Handling the Mobile Handheld Computer
19.1 Mobile Handheld Computer
19.1.1 Turning on the Device
To turn on the Mobile Handheld Computer, use the following button:
"On/Off" button.

The status LED is lit green as soon as the Mobile Handheld Computer is turned on. The home screen of the
operating system or the normal working environment appears on the display.
19.1.2 Turning off the Device
To turn off the Mobile Handheld Computer, use the following button:
"On/Off" button (hold for three seconds).
A dialog with the options "Switch off," "Restart" and "Screenshot" will then appear on the right-hand side of
the display. To turn off the device, confirm the "Turn off" button. If you want to cancel this dialog, click on a
free area in the display. This will cause the dialog to close.
The status LED goes out as soon as the mobile handheld computer is turned off.
19.1.3 Idle Mode
To switch the Mobile Handheld Computer into idle mode, use the following button:
"On/Off" button (hold for two seconds).
In idle mode, (system) processes minimize their power consumption in order to save energy. The display is
also switched off. This means the Mobile Handheld Computer requires only a little power and the
rechargeable battery time can be extended.
19.1.4 Emergency Power Supply
After the Mobile Handheld Computer has been turned on for at least 15 minutes, the emergency power
supply can be used.
With the emergency power supply, the Mobile Handheld Computer is supplied with power for up to ten
seconds even when the battery is being changed so that it is possible to change the rechargeable battery
while the application is running.
The removal of the rechargeable battery is detected and a message is sent to the operating system. This
message can be used by the applications to save important data.
In the process, the display is darkened. After the rechargeable battery has been put back in, the display
becomes active again.
