The charging and communication contacts are very sensitive! The
Mobile Handheld Computer may only be inserted into and removed
from the mounting bracket as described below. Do not touch the
contact with your fingers or with objects such as pens,

18 Before Initial Commissioning
18.1 Power Supply
Only the power supplies described below may be used for the power supply of the Mobile Handheld
Computer and the active mounting bracket.

Supplied medical power supply unit with +15 V DC

24 V DC (± 15 %) via supplied DC cable with upstream fuse
 15 - 20 V DC (± 15 %) only for ≤ 10 m supply cable length

24 V DC (± 15 %) with supply cable length > 10 m
Only the supplied medical power supply unit or Selv/Pelv power
supply units for supply via DC cable may be used.
ATTENTION
When using the DC connection cable, a 6 A fuse must be
connected upstream.

A different supply may damage the device or interfere with other
devices connected to the supply.

18.2 Starting up the Mobile Handheld Computer
Before using the Mobile Handheld Computer for the first time, please ensure that the battery inserted in the
Mobile Handheld Computer at the factory is fully charged and inserted in the left-hand battery compartment.
Connect the Mobile Handheld Computer to the mains using the power supply unit included with delivery.
Now you can start up the Mobile Handheld Computer. When you have started up the Mobile Handheld
Computer, the battery charge level is displayed in the top right-hand corner of the screen as a percentage.
For further information about the Mobile Handheld Computer and the active mounting bracket, see the
following sections.
18.3 Commissioning the Active/Passive Mounting Bracket
Mount the mounting bracket firmly in the appropriate place using the holes provided. Insert the DC plug of
the corresponding power supply on the back. To prevent unintentional unplugging, the supply cable can be
attached to the mounting bracket via an eyelet.

The Active mounting bracket is disconnected from the power supply
by pulling out the power plug or DC cable.
