Technical tests
8.1.1
Measurement of resistance of the main
earth at the Main Bonding Point – MBP
The resistance of the device should be measured at this point.
8.1.2
Measuring the continuity of protective
conductors
The measurement should be taken between the MBP and the
PE point in the charging socket, or – if the station is equipped
with a charging cable – at the plug. The measurement should be
carried out in accordance with the PN-EN 61557-4:2007 stan-
dard. The measurement voltage for an open circuit should be
between 4 and 24 V (AC or DC). The continuity test should be
conducted with a current of at least 200 mA. The measurement
accuracy should be greater than 30%. The maximum permitted
resistance is 1 Ω.

Measurement of resistance of the working grounding
If working grounding has been performed, a measurement should be
carried out. The measurement can be carried out using a technical,
compensatory, clamp method, or other method compliant with appli-
cable regulations – PN-EN 61557-5. The maximum permitted resistan-
ce is 30 Ω.
Note: Before starting measurements in the installation with surge protectors,
they must be disconnected from phases L1, L2, L3, and from the neutral
conductor.
After the measurements are completed, restore the connection.
If the station has energy meters, the wires must be disconnected from
the input terminals of the meter and used as the measurement point.
Otherwise, phase-to-phase resistance will be too low, at around 1500
kΩ, and phase-to-neutral resistance will be approximately 750 kΩ.
Standard PN-IEC 60364-6-61 specifies the method of measurement
and the required values of test voltages, as well as the minimum insu-
lation resistance for electrical installations during commissioning and
periodic inspections. Test voltage is usually 500 VDC, and the minimum
insulation resistance is 1 MΩ.
Measurements should be taken between the wires, according to the
table below:
