Troubleshooting. Error messages, causes and solutions
Error codes Description
Er 2
In remote operation (PC), with
watchdog function 1 enabled:
No communication between
PC and RET control
Er 3
Temperature inside unit is higher • Build up of heat between the heating Heating OFF
than 80°C
Er 4
Difference between setpoint and
actual speeds is greater than
300 rpm
Er 5
No temperature increase measured • Sensor not in medium
by temperature sensor where
temperature difference remains too large

The calibration value of the tempe- • Fault in calibration procedure

value
Er 9
Fault storing the safety circuit set- • EEPROM fault
point temperatures
Er 11 Temperature sensor unplugged • Medium temperature sensor 1 or 2 Heating OFF
Er 12

ded the SAFE TEMP P (Probe)
Er 21 Fault during heating plate safety • Safety relay does not open
test
Er 22 Fault during heating plate safety • S_CHECK cannot generate a higher Heating OFF
test
Er 23 Fault in SAFE TEMP H (Hotplate) • Difference between the setpoint
adjustable safety circuit
Cause
• PC does not send any data during
the watchdog time
• The connection/cable to the PC is
broken
plate and the casing
• Permitted ambient temperature has
been exeeded
• Motor seized or overloaded
• Volume of heat transfer medium
• Medium heat transfer rating is too low
• Heat temperature rating of the vessel
is too low
• With indirect heating the total heat
transfer resistance is too high
• EEPROM switching error
(PT 100 or PT 1000) was unplugged
during an operation cycle
(PT 100 or PT 1000) was unplugged
during an operation cycle
• Difference between the setpoint
and actual values of the adjustable
safety circuit for the minimum
temperature monitoring
• Short-circuit at temperature

Effect
Solution
Heating OFF
• Change the watchdog time
Motor OFF
• Send data from the PC within the
watchdog time (OUT_WDx@m)
• Check the connector cable and plug
• Switch off the unit. Allow it too cool
down and then switch on again
• Change test process
• Restore ambient temperature to
within the permitted maximum
Heating OFF
• Reduce the torque load, e.g. use
Motor OFF
smaller magnetic bars
• Reduce the setpoint speed
Heating OFF
• Immerse the sensor in the medium
• Reduce medium volume
• Use a heat transfer oil with a better
heat transfer rating
• Use a metal vessel in place of a glass
vessel
Heating OFF
• Repeat the calibration procedure
Heating OFF
• Switch off the unit. Allow it to cool
down and then switch on again
• Only unplug the temperature
sensor when the unit is switched
off
• Only unplug the temperature
sensor when the unit is switched
off
Heating OFF
• Switch ON and set the SAFE TEMP
to another value. If this clears the fault
when the unitis switched on again,
you can return to using the previus
value
Heating OFF
• Check the plug
• Substitude the temperature sensor
Heating OFF
• Check the plug
• Substitude the temperature sensor
• Allow the medium to cool
• Set the SAFE TEMP P (Probe) at a
higher temperature
• Allow the medium to cool
• Set the SAFE TEMP P (Probe) at a
higher temperature
Heating OFF
• Switch off the unit. Allow it to cool
down and then switch on again
• Switch off the unit. Allow it to cool
down and then switch on again
Heating OFF
• Switch ON in operating mode A and
set the SAFE TEMP H to another value.
If this clears the fault when the unit
is switched on again, you can return to
using the previous value
