Switching the display
During the charging process you can repeatedly
press the "DISPLAY MODE" button (7) to display
the following parameters:
V = charging voltage
A = charging current
% = battery charge condition
Stopping charging
Press the "START/STOP" button (15) to stop the
charging process.
Using the jump start junction
The charger's jump start function can be used to
help start vehicles with a weak battery. In very low
temperatures or if the battery voltage is below 8.5
V, charge the battery at least 5 minutes before jump
starting.
Note:
Jump Start can only be started with a connected
battery.
1. Connect the charger as described under "Con-
necting The Device".
2. Repeatedly press the "MODE" button (10) to
select the "BOOST" jump start mode. The LEDs
(9) indicate the selection.
3. Press the "START/STOP" (15) to start jump
starting.
Attention!
Try starting for max. 5 seconds.
4. Try starting the vehicle.
Note:
Wait approx. 3 minutes before trying to start it
again to allow the charger and battery to cool
down.
Stop after 3 failed jump start attempts. Have your
vehicle checked by a specialist repair shop.
5. Press the "START/STOP" button (15) to stop the
jump start process.
Testing the alternator
The voltage range may vary by vehicle. The device
cannot accommodate all indicated charging volt-
ages. Please refer to the owner's manual for your
vehicle.
Attention!
In the event of an error, immediately have your
vehicle checked by a specialist repair shop.
1. Connect the charger as described under "Con-
necting The Device".
2. Press the "TEST" button (16) to start testing the
alternator.
3. Start the engine of the vehicle.
If the "OK" LED (17) lights up, the alternator is work-
ing properly.
If the "NG" LED (17) lights up, the voltage output
of the alternator is outside the tolerance range.
Have the vehicle's alternator checked by a specialist
repair shop.
Using the Power Supply function
Whilst changing the battery or working on the
electronics, the charger will supply the vehicle with
a voltage of 13.6 so no data will be lost.
1. Connect the charger as described under "Con-
necting The Device".
2. Repeatedly press the "MODE" button (10) to
select the power supply function "13.6 V Supply".
The LEDs (9) indicate the selection.
3. Press the "START/STOP" button (15) to start the
Power Supply function.
You can now work on the electronics.
4. Press the "START/STOP" button (15) to stop
supplying power.
Disconnecting the charger
1. First, remove the plug from the 230V power
socket.
2. Disconnect the black (-) terminal connection
cable with clamp (2) from the negative battery
terminal.
3. Disconnect the red (+) terminal connection cable
with clamp (1) from the positive battery terminal.
