Eliminating minor faults yourself
Before you call customer service:
Please check whether you can eliminate the fault yourself based on the following
information.
Customer service will charge you for advice, even if the appliance is still under
guarantee!
Fault
Temperature
differs greatly
from the set value.
Displays do not
illuminate.
The display, Fig.
2/2, shows "E..".
Fascia has
reduced
luminosity.
Temperature
display, Fig. 2/5,
flashes.

Possible cause
Power failure; the fuse has been
switched off; the mains plug has
not been inserted properly.
Electronics module defective.
When the appliance is not used for
about twenty four hours the display
on the fascia switches to ECO mode.
A fault caused the freezer
compartment to become too warm
in the past.
Remedial action
In some cases it is adequate to switch
off the appliance for 5 minutes.
If the temperature is too high wait
a few hours and check whether the
temperature has approached the set
value.
If the temperature is too low, check
the temperature again the next day.
Check whether the power is on, the fuse
must be switched on.
Call customer service.
As soon as the appliance is again used,
e.g. the door is opened, the display
switches back to normal illumination.
When the button, Fig. 2/6, has been
pressed, the display, Fig. 2/5, stops
flashing. The warmest temperature
reached in the freezer compartment
is indicated on the display, Fig. 2/5,
for ten seconds.
