EARLY REFLECTION PROGRAMS
he term "early reflections" refers to the first group of reflections (echoes) that occurs before the reflections blend
into the sonic whole that is known as reverberation. These early reflections are very closely spaced, but are still dis-
tinguishable as independent echoes. Musically, early reflections can be used to accentuate and thicken individual notes and
chords, adding extra punch and life to your sound. The R100 gives you a range of 10 early reflection programs that can be
extremely effective with all instruments and types of music.
PARAMETER 1: Effect/Direct Signal Balance
e Range: 0 — 99
Adjusts the balance between the direct sound of your in-
strument (or other source) and the effect signal. At "99"
only the effect sound is delivered from the R100 outputs,
while at "0" only the direct sound is output. At a setting
of "50, " the direct and effect sounds are output in. ap-
proximately equal proportions. |
PARAMETER 2: Initial Delay
е Display Range: 0 — 99
e Corresponding Delay Range: 0.1 — 400 milliseconds
This parameter represents the delay between the direct
sound of an instrument and the early reflection group.
PARAMETER 3: Room Size
e Display Range: 0 — 99
e Corresponding Room Size Range: 01 — 20
This parameter sets the time intervals between the early
reflections —- a feature of natural early reflections which
is directly proportional to the size of the room. Higher
settings simulate the sound of bigger "rooms."
PARAMETER 4: Liveness
e Range: 0 — 10
"Liveness" refers to the rate at which the reflected sounds
fade. An acoustically "dead" room is simulated by setting
this parameter to zero. Increasing the value of this pa-
rameter creates
an increasingly "live" sound, simulating
an increasing area of reflective surfaces in the room.
FEEDBACK EARLY REFLECTION PROGRAMS 1
FEEDBACK EARLY REFLECTION PROGRAMS 2
hese programs combine early reflections with feedback, creating multiple repeating groups of early reflections in a
variety of configurations.
PARAMETER 1: Effect/Direct Signal Balance
• Range: 0 — 99
Adjusts the balance between the direct sound of your in-
strument (or other source) and the effect signal. At "99"
only the effect sound is delivered from the R100 outputs,
while at "0" only the direct sound is output. At a setting
of "50," the direct and effect sounds are output in ap-
proximately equal proportions.
PARAMETER 2: Delay
e Display Range: 0 — 99
е Corresponding Delay Range: 0 — 400 milliseconds
This parameter represents the delay between repeating
groups of early reflections.
PARAMETER 3: Room Size
e Display Range: 0 — 99
» Corresponding Room Size Range: 0.1 — 20
This parameter sets the time intervals between the early
reflections — a feature of natural early reflections which
is directly proportional to the size of the room. Higher
settings simulate the sound of bigger "rooms."
PARAMETER 4: Feedback Gain
• Range: 0 — 99
|
(Range is 0 — 30 in programs 39 & 40)
Sets the amount of the delay signal fed back to the input
of the processor. The higher the feedback gain setting, the
greater the number of delayed repeats produced.
