infection, skin irritation, pain, discomfort or implant loss . If the
skin has been reduced and grows back to its original thickness,
skin reduction surgery may be indicated .
Precautions: Do not fit an SP Magnet if the surgical incision is not
sufficiently healed.
The sound processor and SP Magnet must be removed before
entering a room where an MRI scanner is located and for any
treatment involving ionizing radiation, such as for example X-ray,
CT-scan and radiation therapy .
The implanted magnet may affect diagnostic information/
treatment effectiveness in the area around the magnet during
treatment with ionizing radiation (e .g . X-Ray, CT-scan, radiation
therapy) . Take this into consideration before any such treatment .
Counsel the patient or patient's caregivers that the Baha Attract
System contains small parts that may be hazardous if swallowed
or may cause choking if ingested or inhaled .
The Baha Attract System contains magnets that should be kept
away from life supporting devices, e .g . cardiac pacemakers
and ICDs (implantable cardioverter defibrillators) and magnetic
ventricular shunts, as the magnets may affect the function of
these devices. Contact the manufacturer of the specific device
to find out more. Only Cochlear products should be used with
each other . Combining products that are not dimensioned for
mating can lead to mechanical failure, damage to tissue or to
compromised audiological results .
Contains small parts that may present a choking hazard or
suffocation.
Cleaning: Remove the soft pad and clean the SP Magnet with an
alcohol wipe (70% ethanol) before use on new patient .
