SP Magnets Instructions for use
Intended use: The Cochlear Baha System uses bone conduction
to transmit sounds to the cochlea (inner ear) with the purpose
of enhancing hearing . The SP Magnet is intended to be used as
part of the Cochlear Baha System to function as retention and
coupling mechanism between the Baha implant magnet and the
Baha Sound Processor .
Indications: The Cochlear Baha System is indicated for
patients with conductive, mixed hearing loss and single-sided
sensorineural deafness (SSD) .
Clinical benefit: Most recipients of a bone conduction hearing
solution will experience improved hearing performance and
quality of life compared to unaided listening .

Patients should have sufficient bone quality and quantity to
support successful implant placement .
The SP Magnets are available in different strengths. If the
magnet is too weak, the sound processor may fall off and if it is
too strong, the patient may feel discomfort or experience skin
