Starting to play
1. If you are going to use battery power,
first insert the batteries in the compart-
ment as described earlier. Before using
with household current or a car battery,
ensure that the optional adaptor is
safely connected.
2. Slide the POWER switch ® to the
"ON" position. The Power-On light will
then illuminate. If the light flickers
when you're using batteries, this indi-
cates that the batteries need replacing.
Note:
If the power is switched on immediately after
having been switched off, the Power-On light
will flicker, indicating that the PCS-500 will not
function. This is because the built-in micro-
computer requires a longer interval before
receiving power again. Wait 2 or 3 seconds
before switching on after switching off: the
PCS-500 will then function normally.
3. Adjust the overall volume using the
MASTER VOLUME control ©.

1. Soll das Instrument mit Batterien betrieben
werden, setzen Sie diese wie zuvor
beschrieben ein. Bei Betrieb mit Netzstrom
oder an einer Autobatterie überprüfen
Sie, daß der Adapter (Sonderzubehör)
richtig angeschlossen ist.
2. Schieben Sie den POWER. Schalter
auf ON. Die Einschaltanzeige leuchtet
dann. Blinkt er bei Batteriebetrieb, so
müssen die Batterien ersetzt werden.
Hinweise:
Wenn das Instrument unmittelbar nach dem Aus-
schalten wieder eingeschaltet wird, blinkt die
Einschaltanzeige und zeigt damit an, daß das PCS-500
nicht betriebsbereit ist. Dies liegt daran, daß der
eingebaute Mikrocomputer 2 bis 3 Sekunden benötigt,
bevor er wieder einen Einschaltbefehl aufnehmen
kann. Warten Sie mit dem erneuten Einschalten
deshalb 2 bis 3 Sekunden.

lume alors. Si ce voyant lumineux
s'allume et s'éteint alternativement, en
cas de fonctionnement sur piles, ce
signal indique qu'il convient de rem-
placer les piles.
Remarque:
Si le contact est remis immédiatement aprés avoir
été coupé, la lampe d'alimentation (POWER-ON)
se mettra à clignoter, indiquant que le PCS-500 ne
peut pas fonctionner. Cela vient du fait que le
micro-ordinateur incorporé demande pius de
temps pour étre prét à étre remis en fonction.
Veuillez
attendre 20u 3 secondes avant de remettre
le contact aprés l'avoir coupé, et le PCS-500
fonctionnera normalement.

Comenzando a tocar
1. Si va a utilizar las baterías como fuente de
potencia, inserte antes las baterías en el
compartimiento como se ha descrito antes.
Antes de utilizar el instrumento con co-
rriente doméstica o con la batería del auto-
móvil, asegürese de que el adaptador
opcional esté bien conectado.
2. Deslice el Interruptor de Potencia
(POWER) ® a la posición "ON".
Entonces se iluminará la luz de conexión.
Si la luz parpadea cuando esté utilizando
baterías, esto indicará que las baterías
necesitan ser cambiadas.
Nota:
Si se conecta la alimentación inmediatamente después
de haberse desconectado, la luz de conexión par-
padeará, indicando que el PCS-500 no funcionará.
Esto se debe a que el microordenador incorporado
requiere un intervalo más largo antes de recibir de
nuevo la alimentación de energia. Espere 2 ó 3.
segundos antes de conectarlo, después de haberlo
desconectado: entonces, el PCS-500 si funcionará
normalmente.
3. Ajuste el volumen general utilizando el
control de Volumen Principal (MASTER
VOLUME) Q.
