General remarks

Over and above the already multi-featured equipment level of the standard power
source TP 1500, the versions TP 1500 VRD, TP 1500 RC, TP 1500 TIG and TP 1500 TIG
VRD offer an even higher level of functionality.
These 5 versions of the TP 1500 power source may all only be small, but they are built to
function dependably under even the toughest operating conditions. Features such as its
powder-coated sheet-steel housing, the way its controls are protected by a plastic frame,
and its bayonet-latching connection sockets all testify to the high quality of its design.
Thanks to its carrying strap, the machine is easy to move around - both in the workshop
and out in the field.

TP 1500 RC

The TP 1500 RC power source has a connection facility for connecting up a TR 1500
remote-control unit and a TR 1500 F pedal-operated remote-control unit.
These remote-control units, which can be connected to the remote-control socket on the
TP 1500 RC power source, are ideal for adjusting the welding current during welding.

TP 1500 TIG

Over and above the equipment level of the TP 1500 RC power source, the TP 1500 TIG
offers added functionality for TIG welding.
The TIG welding torch AL 1500 (with plug-on gas nozzle) is specially designed for the
extended functionality of the TP 1500 TIG power source. In addition, the welding torch
has a potentiometer for setting the welding current during welding.
The extra operating mode "TIG pulsed-arc welding" is particularly suitable for

-
Its range of use and application is considerably extended by the facility for TIG welding
with touch-down ignition and the unique TIG comfort-stop function.
The TIG comfort-stop function makes it possible - for the first time ever - to continuously
lower the welding current (downslope) at the end of welding, with no need for a compli-
cated welding torch with torch trigger and control leads.
The downslope is initiated simply by raising and lowering the welding torch. Continuous
lowering of the welding current ensures that there is reliable gas shielding of the end-
crater and that the end-crater is filled effectively.
An intelligent gas-flow control ensures that the weld seam is given optimum gas-shiel-
ding. Like the TIG comfort-stop function, this function also does without any torch trigger
or control leads. When the arc is ignited, the shielding gas is activated and then auto-
matically switched off after the end of the downslope.
Depending on what welding current has been selected (10 A to 150 A), the gas post-
flow time will be between 3 and 12 seconds.
