GENERAL REMARKS

PRINCIPLE OF THE T.I.M.E. SYNERGIC

The T.I.M.E. Process is a high-performance MAG welding process that
unites the very highest economic efficiency with outstanding weld seam
quality. Its higher deposition rate results from the use of solid wires at
higher wirefeed speeds, with special shielding gas mixtures being used
to ensure a high-grade welded join.
Among the key advantages of this process are aspects such as the weld-
seam appearance, mechanical-technological property values, weld
interfaces, freedom from inadequate fusion, and low tendency to spatter.
With the introduction of a second gas mixture, known as "T.I.M.E.-II", it
is now possible to achieve pore-free weld seams where necessary.
Essentially, the T.I.M.E. Process is the interaction of state-of-the-art
power-source technology, powerful wirefeeders and welding torches,
the relevant gas physics, and the know-how needed to make the best
possible use of these factors.

WELDING PROCEDURE APPROVAL TEST TO EN 288-7

In the field of welding engineering in Europe, there will in future be
several possible ways in which recognition can be obtained for welding
procedure specifications (WPS). One of these is the standard welding
procedure approval test to EN 288 -7, as stipulated in ÖNORM EN 288-
1. In a welding procedure approval test of this type, all key influential
variables are investigated, resulting in the definition of a standardised
welding process.
The attraction of this type of approval is that it offers a way of reducing
the costs that each individual manufacturer would incur in connection
with the approval. A WPS that has been carried out once is approved if
the ranges of all influencing variables remain within the permissible
range for the standard weld process in question. This is ensured by a
programmed parameter field in the power source, among other things.
For more information on this topic, please refer to the weld-procedure
approval test itself.

MACHINE CONCEPT

The modular system was the inspiration behind T.I.M.E. Synergic. The
individual control components are joined by screw-type connections and
are easy to mount on the sturdy trolley.
The gas cylinder is integrated in the trolley in a recessed, low-level
location which makes the cylinder quick and easy to change and
manipulate. The machine may have compact dimensions, but it is built to
function dependably under even the toughest operating conditions. The
machine's powder-coated sheet-steel housing, protected controls and
bayonet-latching current sockets satisfy the most exacting user
requirements.
The portable wirefeeder can be mounted on the location pivot on the
power source, enabling it to be swivelled to either side, or it can be
dismounted so as to extend the work zone. The wire spool and drive
system are protected from swarf by closeable covers.
The insulated transport handle and a trolley with extra-large wheels and
optimally placed crane-hoisting lugs make the machines easier to move
around, both in the factory and out in the field.
