9. Setup
a) Removing the chassis
Remove the clips and lift the chassis off the vehicle. In doing so, disconnect the plug connection between the vehicle
and the LEDs.
b) Configuring the speed controller
The speed controller features two jumpers that can be
used to configure the driving functions and the recharge-
able battery.
Jumper (A): Use this jumper to select the operating mode:
F/B/R = Forward / Brake / Reverse
F/B = Forward / Brake
F/R = Forward / Reverse
For a crawler the setting F/R is optimal (brake is
deactivated). Adjust the jumper if necessary.
Jumper (B): Use this jumper to select which type of battery
is connected to the speed controller (LiPo or NiMH).
Important!
If you are using a LiPo vehicle battery and set the battery type to NiMH, the battery will overdischarge and
be permanently damaged.
Always ensure that you select the correct battery type before driving the vehicle.
The "LiPo" setting reduces the motor power by 50 % when the battery voltage drops below 6.5 V.
The speed controller switches the motor off when the battery voltage drops below 6.0 V. This prevents the LiPo battery
from overdischarging, which damages the battery.
The "NiMH" setting reduces the motor power when the battery voltage drops below 4.5 V. The motor is switched off
when the battery voltage drops below 4.0 V.
c) Inserting batteries into the remote control
Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert new or fully charged batteries. Ensure that the
batteries are inserted in the correct polarity (observe the positive/+ and negative/- markings). Replace the battery
compartment cover.
