3.
For safety reasons, the appliance
may be used indoors only as a
table grill. The appliance may be
used as a free-standing grill only
in a protected area out of doors.
4.
Connect the appliance via the
power cable to the power supply
(AC, 230 V~, 50 Hz).
5.
Use the rotary knob to set the
desired temperature.
6.
When the required temperature
has been reached, you can start
grilling.
7.
The first time you use the appli-
ance, it is possible that there will
be some smoke.
8.
The water in the water tray may
also produce a small amount of
steam. The water prevents the sur-
face under the grill from exposure
to excessive temperatures.
9.
Please make sure that the water
always covers the bottom of the
pan. If this is not the case, add
water. For this, switch off the
appliance and let it cool off. Make
sure that no water splashes onto
the hot heating elements. The grill
plate has a small recess through
which you can easily top up the
water without having to remove
the hot grill plate from the appli-
ance.

GRILLING WITHOUT THE STAND

You can also use the grill without the stand. If you wish to use the grill indoors,
for safety reasons you may do so only without the stand. You may use the appli-
ance as a free-standing grill only out of doors.
For this, prepare the appliance on a suitable flat surface as described, and fit the
insert, with the correctly installed and filled water tray, and the heating element
and grill plate inserted.
10. Do not completely cover the grill
plate with aluminium foil or other
objects that could cause the appli-
ance to overheat. Of course, you
can use conventional aluminium
grill trays, and you can also grill
food wrapped in aluminium foil,
such as potatoes.
11. Do not touch the grill plate while
the appliance is in use, as there
is a danger of being burned. Even
when grilling is over, the plate
remains hot for a certain time.
12. Frozen foods should be comple-
tely thawed before grilling.
13. For optimum grilling results, turn
the food regularly.
14. It is possible that grease may
splatter while food is being grilled.
Therefore, you should protect the
ground beneath the appliance to
prevent damage from splattering
grease.
15. When you no longer need to grill,
please set the controller to the
"MIN" position, and then unplug
the appliance from the power sup-
ply.
CAUTION:
The appliance becomes very
hot during operation!
