Initial commissioning

4.1

Unpacking

¶
Remove the packaging from all components
supplied.
4.2

Connection

1. Use the power supply unit to supply the FSA 500
with power.
2. Switch on the FSA 500.
3. Charge the storage battery.
� LED B glows purple during charging.
� Storage battery charged: LED B glows blue.
4. Remove the power supply unit and power supply
cable.
5. Connect the sensors at the measurement unit slots
provided (see fig. 2).

Only connect amps clamp 30 A (1 687 225 020 -
special accessory) and amps clamp 1000 A as well
as adapter cable 1 684 465 513 (special accessory)
if necessary.

FSA 500 is ready for operation.

Software installation

Heed the system prerequisites before starting
installation. FSA 500 can only be operated with
DCU 120, DCU 220 or a PC/laptop and with
"FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus]" software installed.

For control unit diagnostics with CAS[plus], the
current ESI[tronic] software (info type SD) must
be installed and licensed on the PC/laptop. In
this case it is advisable to install the ESI[tronic]
software first. Control unit diagnosis is possible
only with a KTS module.
4.3.1 Installing the DDM (Diagnostics Download
Manager)
1. Install DDM.

2. Set up DDM.

which can be opened with "?".

Installing FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus]

1. Start installation.
� The setup will start.
2. Read and follow the instructions on the screen.

During installation of the software, the USB driver
for FSA 500 must be installed when prompted.
3. Select the Install option in the dialog box.
4. Connect FSA 500 to DCU 120, DCU 220 or a PC/
laptop when prompted.
� The USB driver for FSA 500 is installed.

After the USB driver is installed, installation of
the "FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus]" software is
completed.

FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus] is now installed.

If CoRe software is not installed on DCU 120,
DCU 220 or the PC/laptop, a prompt to install it
appears.
1. Confirm the prompt.
� Installation starts.
2. Read and follow the instructions on the screen.

At the end of the installation, initial setup of the
CoRe software takes place.
3. If FSA 500 is used as a non-networked application,
select the version Server for the CoRe network.
4. Make and confirm the remaining settings for initial
setup.

CoRe is installed and starts automatically.
