FSA 500 Settings

4.4.1

Configuration of USB link

1. Switch on the FSA 500 and connect it to a
computer by way of USB.
2. In "CoRe" select the software "FSA 050/500".
� The FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus] software is
started.
� The Settings window opens.

The Settings window opens automatically the first
time the software is started. The default setting in
the Connection input box is the option USB.
3. Press <F12>.
� The USB link is established, LED A flashes
(green).

FSA 500 is ready for operation.

Bluetooth configuration

Use the Bluetooth USB adapter provided for
the Bluetooth connection of the PC/laptop with
FSA 500.
On DCU 120/DCU 220, the internal Bluetooth
hardware is used. The supplied Bluetooth USB
adapter is not required.

In the event of problems with the Bluetooth wireless
connection, see the information in sec. 2.7.
1. Select the "Settings" test step.
2. Press <F12>.
� The Settings window opens.
3. Press <F6> Pairing.
� The MAC address of the FSA 500 is read out via
the USB link.
4. When prompted, remove the USB connection.
5. When using a computer, insert the Bluetooth USB
adapter.
6. Press <F12>.
7. Select the Bluetooth transmission power.

With normal transmission power, the range is at
least 30 meters. The transmission power for Japan
is at least 3 meters (see sec. 8.8).
8. Press <F12>.
� Bluetooth link established, LED A flashes (blue).

FSA 500 is ready for operation.

software is described in the Online Help.

In order to select the FSA 050 test steps on the
start screen of FSA 500, FSA 050 must first be
configured.

FSA 050 configuration

1. Select the "Settings" test step.
2. Press <F12>.
� The Settings window opens.
3. In the FSA 050 input box, select the Use option.
4. Press <F7> FSA 050.
5. Enter the MAC address of FSA 050. The address is
printed on the underside of the device underneath
the rubber protection.
6. Turn the FSA 050 rotary switch to SETUP.
7. Press <F3> Connect.
� The SETUP settings are displayed.
8. Select the desired SETUP settings.
9. Press <F12>.

The settings selected are transferred to FSA 050 via
Bluetooth.

The FSA 050 test steps are displayed on the start
screen of FSA 500. The test step "High voltage
analysis" is active if an electric hybrid vehicle was
selected in vehicle identification.
