Clean as necessary using compressed air or low pressure steam, taking
care not to damage the fins.
Adequate periodic maintenance will ensure save both energy and
cost savings.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTER

Clean the air filter at least once a month and in any case at the start of
the period of use (before the heating and the air conditioning season).
For filter cleaning, proceed as follows.
Ū FWZ version: turn the screws 90°, which secure the filter to the cover
cabinet, to 1/4 turn and remove the filter; see figure 11.11 p. 58.
Ū Recess-mounted models FWS: access the unit via the inspection
panel and take out the air filter turn 90° the locking staff; see figure
11.12  p. 62.
Ū Version FWR remove the air filters that are inside the intake
grids located on the front panel of the cover cabinet; see figures
11.10  p. 58.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the unit is not working properly, before calling a service engineer carry
out the checks indicated in the table below.
PROBLEM
The unit fails to work
The unit provides insufficient cooling
or heating
The unit "leaks" water

CAUSE
No power supply
The automatic safety cutout has tripped
The on/off switch is on
The air filter is dirty or clogged
The heat exchanger is dirty
An obstacle is obstructing the air intake or outlet
Air is trapped inside the heat exchanger
There are open windows and/or doors
The minimum speed has been selected
The unit has not been installed with the correct inclination
The drainage outlet is clogged
Ū Clean the filter with warm water or, in the event of dry dust build-up,
using compressed air;
Ū After allowing it to dry, fit the filter back in place.
It is recommended to replace the air filter once a year, using an original
replacement filter; the indoor unit model is specified on the identifica-
tion plate on the inside of the side panel.

CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER

It is advisable to check the condition of the exchangers before the start
of every period of use and to make sure that the fins are not obstructed
by dirt.

CLEANING THE CABINET

Ū Use a soft cloth
Ū Never pour liquids onto the unit, as this could cause electrical dis-
charges and damage the internal components.
Ū Never use harsh chemical solvents; do not clean the air outlet flap
with very hot water.
If the problem cannot be solved, contact your dealer or the nearest ser-
vice centre.
Restore the power supply
Call a service centre for assistance
Start the unit by moving the switch to I
Clean the air filter
Call the installer for assistance
Remove the obstacle
Call the installer for assistance
Close windows and/or doors
Select medium or maximum speed
