4 Instructions for mounting / schematic

4.1 Assembly type 1: Version with dowel pin
The rotating of the measuring system by the arising torque is prevented by a dowel pin
on the machine side. For the mounting of the dowel pin the measuring system on the
flange side possesses a groove application 4
This way of mounting shouldn't be used for precision applications. Radial deviations of
the shaft can cause an easy torsion of the measuring system and cause thus an
angular error.

The minimum length of the customer shaft depends on the measuring system length:

The minimal dowel pin length is the result of the mounting shaft (6.5 mm), the safety
distance from mounting shaft to the machine (1 mm) and at least 2 mm, the dowel pin
must rise in the groove.
Position the measuring system so that a minimum distance of 1 mm is kept between
mounting shaft and machine. The dowel pin should not be deeper than 5.5 mm in the
groove.
Protect measuring system against slipping on the shaft and tighten the two grub
screws with the hexagon key.
