4. Loosen the nuts.
5. Move the chain wheel to adjust the tension.
6. Tighten the nuts.
7. Install the chain cover.
To do a check of the V-belt tension

without the V-belt covers installed.
1. Stop the product. Refer to
page 19 .
2. Remove the V-belt covers.
3. Examine the V-belts for damages and wear. Replace
the V-belts if it is necessary.

4. Push the V-belts with your thumb to examine the
tension. If you can push the V-belts a distance of
10–15 mm/0.4–0.6 in. (A), the tension is correct.
5. If the V-belt tension is not sufficient, increase the
distance between the motor and the bearing.
6. Install the V-belt covers.
To replace the V-belts
WARNING:
covers when the ON/OFF switch is in OFF
position and the motors have fully stopped.

1. Remove the V-belt covers. Refer to
the V-belt tension on page 23 .
2. Loosen the bolts (A).

3. Turn the bolts (B) to decrease the distance between
the motors and the bearing. The tension of the V-
belts is released.
4. Remove the old V-belts and install the new V-belts.
5. Increase the distance between the motors and the
bearing to apply tension to the V-belts.
6. Make sure that the tension is correct. Refer to
a check of the V-belt tension on page 23 .
7. Attach the V-belt covers.
