12.4 Cell constant

You can select one of the following cell constants:
-1
• 0.475 cm
-1
• 0.100 cm
-1
• 0.875 cm
1.
Press <CAL> until the following appears:
2.
Press <RUN/ENTER>.
3.
Continue pressing <CAL> until the desired cell constant is displayed.
4.
Switch back to the measuring mode with <M>.
!
Note!
The sensor supplied has a cell constant of 0.475 cm
If you are using another sensor, take its cell constant from its nameplate or Operating Instruc-
tions.

12.5 Temperature compensation

!
Note!
The set reference temperature, Tref 25 or Tref 20 (--> CONFIGURING), is the basis for calcu-
lating the temperature compensation.
You can select from the following settings:
• Nonlinear temperature compensation (nLF) according to EN 27888
• No temperature compensation (- - - -)
!
Note!
In the case of nonlinear temperature compensation (nLF), a compensation algorithm is saved in
the instrument which refers to the composition of natural water (ground water, spring water,
surface water). This is how this type of compensation differs from linear compensation with a
constant alpha coefficient.
To compare temperature-compensated conductivity values of the CLM280 with those of other
Endress+Hauser measuring instruments:
Set the type of temperature compensation to "NaCl" in the other measuring instruments (e.g.
Mycom, Liquisys, Liquiline).
