5. Safety instructions for
compressed air tools
Warning! When compressed air tools are used, ba-
sic safety precautions must be followed to eliminate
the risks of fire, electric shock and injury to persons.
Please be sure to read and observe the instructions in
this operating manual before using the device for the
first time and keep it in a safe place. The manufacturer
accepts no liability for damage or physical injury re-
sulting from failure to observe this operating manual.
The stated hazards are foreseeable for the general
use of hand-held compressed air impact screwdrivers.
However, in addition, the user must assess specific
risks that may arise due to each application.
• DANGER! Keep your hands and other limbs away
from the rotating parts. Otherwise, there is a risk
of injury.
• WARNING! DANGER OF CRUSHING! Keep your
hands away from the counter support (e.g. ring
spanner) during operation. This is especially true
when loosening screws in cramped working con-
ditions.
• WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Disconnect the
compressed air supply before tool changes, ad-
justment and maintenance work.
• WARNING! RISK OF EXPLOSION! Never use
petrol or other flammable liquids to clean the com-
pressed air device! Vapours remaining in the com-
pressed air device can be ignited by sparks and
cause the compressed air device to explode. Do not
work with the device in an explosive environment
where flammable liquids, gases or dusts may be
located. Do not work on materials that are or could
be potentially flammable or explosive.
• Because of multiple hazards, the Safety Instruc-
tions must be read and understood before the in-
stallation, operation, repair, maintenance and ex-
change of accessories as well as before working in
the vicinity of the screw-driving machine. Otherwise
this can lead to severe physical injuries.
• The screw-driving machine should be set up, ad-
justed or used only by experienced and trained op-
erators.
• The screw-driving machine shall not be modified.
Modifications can reduce the effectiveness of the
safety measures and increase risks for the operator.
• The Safety Instructions must not be lost - give them
to the operator.
• Never use a damaged screw-driving machine.
• The machines must be maintained at regular inter-
vals to check that the rated properties and mark-
ings, such as the rated speed or nominal air pres-
sure, are legible on the machine. If necessary, the
user must contact the manufacturer to obtain re-
placement labels for marking the machine.
• Only use the device in the areas of application for
which it was designed!
• Do not overload the device. Never use hydrogen,
oxygen, carbon dioxide or other bottled gas as the
power source of this tool, as this may cause an ex-
plosion, resulting in serious injury.
• Maintain and clean the device regularly as pre-
scribed (see chapter "Maintenance" and "Cleaning
and care").
