NOISE AND SAFETY
ATTENTION
y The provided numerical values of acoustic pressure
and power in the technical specifications constitute the
level of emitted noise that meets the directive 2000/14
ES, however, they may not necessarily represent safe
noise levels in the workplace. Despite the fact that there
is a certain correlation between the values of emitted
noise and the noise exposure level, it is not possible to
reliably use them to determine whether other measures
are necessary or not. Factors that affect the current level
of noise exposure of workers include environmental
properties (noise resonance), other noise sources, e.g.
number of machines or other work process being per-
formed in the vicinity and also the duration of the time
for which the worker is exposed to the noise. Also, the
permitted level of exposure may differ from country to
country. Therefore, for the installation of the pressure
washer at a workplace, have an acoustic pressure and
power measurement taken by a qualified person to
determine the noise load placed on the worker so that
a qualified person can define the safe exposure time
and hearing protection with a sufficient level of protec-
tion.
y High-pressure nozzles are dangerous when used incor-
rectly. Never point the current of pressurised water
coming out of the nozzle at bystanders, at yourself,
at the pressure washer itself or at equipment under
electrical current. For safety reasons, it is not permitted
to point the nozzle against one's self and other people
for the purpose of cleaning clothing or footwear. Do not
use the pressure washer during unfavourable weather
conditions if the water jet current may be carried on to
other people, animals or the pressure washer itself, etc.
y Ensure that children do not use the pressure washer, that
they do not play with it and do not perform maintenance
tasks and cleaning of the pressure washer. The pressure
washer is not intended for use by handicapped persons.
WARNING
y Never use the pressure washer to spray flammable or
explosive substances, this presents a fire or explosion
hazard. The pressure washer must not be used in an
environment with an explosion hazard. Other forbidden
liquids for use with the pressure washer include those
specified in chapter VI.
y During use, the engine and exhaust pipe heat up to
a high temperature. These parts may remain hot for
a long time after the pressure washer is turned off. Do
not touch these parts during operation and wait until
they cool down. When the pressure washer is running,
EN
the exhaust fumes are also hot, therefore avoid coming
into contact with the exhaust fumes. Since petrol is
highly flammable, do not open the fuel tank and do
not refill fuel while the pressure washer is running and
always wait until the hot parts of the pressure washer
cool down, because this could lead to the ignition of
petrol fumes or the petrol in the event of spillage. In
the event that petrol is spilled on the pressure washer,
always wipe it off before starting the pressure washer.
y When refilling fuel, prevent access
to any flame or spark sources. Risk of igni-
tion of flammables when refilling fuel.
y The pressure washer must not be operated in indoor
areas and in insufficiently ventilated
environments, e.g. in outdoor holes or
trenches, etc., where the exhaust gases
are not sufficiently ventilated. The
exhaust gas is toxic. Risk of poisoning by carbon monoxi-
de. The pressure washer may be used indoors, when suf-
ficient ventilation is provided as assessed by national
authorities responsible for workplace health and safety.
y Never cover the pressure washer as this
creates a fire hazard
WARNING
y Ensure that there are no exhaust fumes
in the vicinity of where air is drawn in.
y Do not expose the pressure washer to rain.
y Prior to starting work, check that the surface is suitable
for cleaning with the high-pressure washer. The manu-
facturer takes no responsibility for damages arising from
inappropriate use.
y The pressure washer is not intended for applying liquids.
y The high-pressure hose must be connected to the
pressure washer for the entire time of operation.
Disconnecting the high-pressure hose from the pressure
washer while it is running presents a risk of injury.
y Prior to performing maintenance, replacing parts or
when the pressure washer is not under supervision, turn
it off by setting the power switch to the "OFF" position
and shut off the water supply.
y Inform yourself about the water pressure in the local
water supply mains. If the water pressure in the water
supply mains is greater than 7 bar, a reduction valve must
be installed on the water supply to the pressure washer.
y Ensure that all water and pressure connections are firmly
tightened.
y Check the proper working order and safety of the high-
-pressure washer and accessories before using it. The
pressure washer must not be used if it is not in perfect
condition. If it is damaged during use, turn the pressure
washer off and refrain from using it. Damaged parts
must be replaced only with original parts supplied by
the manufacturer. The use of non-original spare parts is
dangerous and may result in injury.
