TEDS TRANSDUCER IDENTIFICATION

TEDS stands for "Transducer Electronic Data Sheet". As an option, an electronic data
sheet can be stored in the sensor as defined in the IEEE1451.4 standard, enabling the
measuring amplifier to be set up automatically. A suitably equipped amplifier reads out
the sensor characteristics, translates them into its own settings and measurement can
then start.
A TEDS chip is connected for each component to be measured, and is available on the
plug connection between PIN 5 and PIN 6. Its content can be edited and modified with
suitable hardware and software. The Quantum Assistant, or DAQ CATMAN software from
HBK, can be used for this purpose, for example. Please pay attention to the operating
manuals of these products.
