Checking the tyre pressure (29)
1. Check the tyre pressure particularly before
using for the first time in the winter and at
least every three months during the season.
The maximum permissible tyre pressure is in-
dicated on the tyres (29/1).
Note: 1 bar = approx. 14.5 psi
2. Inflate the tyres uniformly using a tyre pump.
6.5

Adjusting the clearing height (30 - 32)

CAUTION! Risk of injury. Risk of cuts
when reaching into the running transport auger.
Adjust the clearing height only with the en-
gine switched off and the transport auger at
standstill.
Adjust the clearing height so that no gravel or
other foreign matter can be picked up. Give con-
sideration to very uneven ground, for example
tyre tracks, and to manhole covers or paving
stones.
1. Park the appliance on level ground for adjust-
ment.
2. Unfasten the clamping screws (30/1) of the skids
(30/2) on the left and right of the plough (30/3).
3. Push the skids up or down (30/a) to raise the
clearing plate (31/1) to the desired height.
4. Tighten the clamping screws of the skids.
5. Ensure that both skids are at the same height
so that the clearing plate runs parallel to the
ground (31/a).
Skids worn (32)
If the wear edge (32/1) of the skids is worn down,
turn it 180° to use the second side.
1. Unscrew the nuts (32/2) including the washers.
2. Remove the metal plate (32/3).
3. Turn the skid by 180°.
4. Fit washers and tighten nuts.
Note: Be careful not to swap the clamping
screws (32/4) because they are of different
lengths.
6.6
Checking the shear pins on the
appliance (33, 48)
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the
appliance. A frozen auger gearbox can result in
damage to the V-belt.
Check whether the auger gearbox is frozen
before starting the engine.
Park the snow blower in a suitable place to al-
low the auger gearbox to thaw, if necessary.
36
1. Before every start, check that the shear pins
(33/1, 48/2) are undamaged.
Replace broken shear pins with OEM
spare parts (see chapter 9.4 "Replacing
the shear pins (33, 48)", page 39). Use
of non-approved spare parts can result in
serious damage to the appliance!
2. Inspect all operating elements, safety devic-
es, nuts, bolts and studs of the device for
completeness, tightness and sound condi-
tion.
6.7
Starting the engine (34 – 39)
DANGER! Risk of poisoning. The engine
exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide that can
kill a person within a few minutes.
Operate the engine only outdoors, never in a
closed room.
Do not inhale the engine exhaust gases.
Switch off the engine if you feel nauseous,
dizzy or weak during use. Immediately con-
sult a doctor.
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the
appliance. A frozen auger gearbox can result in
damage to the V-belt.
Check whether the auger gearbox is frozen
before starting the engine.
Park the snow blower in a suitable place to
allow the auger gearbox to thaw, if neces-
sary.
Starting process (34 - 37)
1. Check the oil and fuel level.
2. Open fuel cock (34/1) (34/a), i.e. switch to
ON.
3. Check that travel drive and auger drive are
disengaged. Both clutch levers must be in the
upright position.
4. Move choke (34/2) to the CLOSE position
(34/A) (34/b).
5. Press primer button (35/1) 3x at intervals of ap-
prox. 2 seconds. At temperatures below 10 °C,
press the primer button 5x.
6. Move throttle lever (36/1) to the Fast position
(hare) (36/a).
7. Insert engine key (37/1) (37/a).
Manual start (38)
1. Pull the starter cable (38/1) out slightly (38/a)
until initial resistance is felt, then pull out
sharply and allow it to wind back in slowly.
