Unscrew the winged screw for the fixation
bracket 6 approx. 3 to 4 mm. Loosen winged
nut 5 and swing the planer around.
Swing the supporting bracket 11 onto the sup-
porting pin 20.
For surface planing, the parallel guide 12
must be mounted.
Mount the parallel guide 12 (accessory) accord-
ing to the figure.
Tighten the winged nut 5 firmly.
Push supporting arm 14 onto the planer handle
and fasten with the screw.
For surface planing, the planer blade
cover 9 must be mounted.
Fully insert the planer blade cover 9 into the
groove and check if it operates.

Starting Operation

Before starting operation, make sure that
the planer has been mounted according to
the instructions. Check all screwed con-
nections of the planer /thicknesser attach-
ment for tight seating.
Set the required depth-of-cut on the power
planer.
Press the planer lock-off button and actuate the
On/Off switch.
Lock the On/Off switch with the retaining clip 7.
The retaining clip may only be used to-
gether with the planer /thicknesser at-
tachment. Under no circumstances may
the retaining clip be used only with the
power planer.
For switching off remove the retaining clip 7.
A fast switching-off action can be effected by pull-
ing the string on the retaining clip 7. We recom-
mend using a safety switch (Euro and GB acces-
sory).
Planing (see figure
D
Begin with a low depth-of-cut adjustment.
Position the workpiece on the base plate and
push it over the planer shaft with even feed, ap-
plying light pressure to the workpiece at the same
time.
Always work only one single workpiece at
a time.
Repeat the planing process in several runs until
the entire surface of the workpiece has been
planed.

Whilst working keep your fingers together, resting
the thumb on the edge of the workpiece.
The safety push block 22 of machinable material
can be manufactured by the user in accordance
with the illustration. Sand paper with a grain of 40
to 60 is glued onto the underside (see figure

Parallel Guide

The parallel guide 12, which is available as an
accessory, enables planing at an angle of 90°, or
from 90° to 45°.
Mount the parallel guide 12 (accessory) accord-
ing to the figure.
In order to plane the workpiece exactly rectangu-
lar, the workpiece must be positioned against the
parallel guide 12 with the already planed surface.
Pressure must be applied only against the paral-
lel guide.
Preparation
Fasten the planer/thicknesser attachment using
two screw clamps 3 (accessory).
Dismount the planer blade cover 9, if attached.
Swing in the planer. Tighten the winged nut 5 and
winged screw for the fixation bracket 6.
Mount the setting gauge 19 at the side of the de-
vice (see figure
Adjust the maximum depth-of-cut on the power
planer.
Setting the Opening Height
)
After loosening the winged screw for thicknessing
height adjustment 10, the thicknesser table is ad-
justed with the adjusting knob 4 as follows.
Measure the workpiece at its widest location.
Hold the thicknesser table using the adjusting
knob 4.
Set the workpiece thickness minus the desired
depth-of-cut on the scale 2.
Tighten the winged screw for the thicknessing
height adjustment 10 after the setting procedure.
English - 3
When planing short, narrow workpieces,
use a suitable safety push block made of a
soft material (e. g. a piece of wood) to avoid
kickback or jamming of the workpiece.
