3. Then rinse the connecting tube thoroughly with clear water and
let it dry.
4. Applies only to ASSKEA reusable secretion canister system: As-
semble the components with a new external bacterial filter.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the connecting tube every 4
weeks at the latest.

5.2.5 Disposal of the "OneWay" disposable liner

1. Disconnect the connecting tube of the "OneWay" disposable liner

from the upper end of the T-piece of the "Bag" external canister
(Fig. 13).

2. Remove the "OneWay" disposable liner from the reusable "Bag"
external canister.
3. Dispose of the "OneWay" disposable liner and the suction tube in
a proper manner (see section 7.3 "Disposal").

5.2.6 Cleaning and disinfecting the external canister "Bag"

Please note the applicable hygiene instructions. Unless otherwise
directed, please follow these steps:
1. Rinse the external canister "Bag" under running water.
2. Immerse the external canister "Bag" in disinfectant solution for
immersion disinfection (see section 5.2.1) recommended by
ASSKEA GmbH, observing the specific concentration quantity.
3. Then rinse the external canister "Bag" thoroughly under running
water and let it dry.
You can also autoclave the external canister "Bag" at 121 °C for 20
minutes.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the external canister "Bag" after
30 autoclaving processes at the latest, in the event of visible damage
or functional restrictions at the latest , if it is used and disinfected
frequently or for each new patient.

5.2.7 Cleaning / disposal of the suction tube

Please note the applicable hygiene instructions. Unless otherwise
directed, please follow these steps:
1. Dispose of the suction tube in a proper manner prior to each new
patient!
2. If used for one patient only, rinse the suction tube with clear
water after each aspiration procedure and place it in disinfectant
solution for immersion disinfection recommended by ASSKEA
GmbH (see section 5.1.1) daily, observing the specific concentra-
tion quantity and the residence times.
3. Then rinse the suction tube thoroughly with clear water and let
it dry.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the suction tube weekly at the
latest, even if used for one patient only, since the material can become
discolored and brittle due to frequent use.
