4 Operation

Hazard to persons due to improper handling
• Only perform suction after instruction by qualified perso-
nal.
• Use only suitable suction equipment!
• If aspiration procedures are carried out too often, slight
bleeding may occur.
Malfunction due to aspirated secretion
• Make sure that you empty the reusable secretion canister
when it is half-full to curtail frothing. If the reusable secre-
tion canister is full, the mechanical overflow protection is

triggered. This disrupts the aspiration process.
• Ensure that the disposable liner "OneWay" is replaced in a

timely manner. The integrated overflow protection is trig-
gered if the disposable liner "OneWay" is full. This disrupts
the aspiration process.
• Switch off the device when emptying the reusable
secretion canister or when replacing the disposable liner
"OneWay".
• If secretion has been aspirated into the device, it must
be properly processed by ASSKEA GmbH or by a service
partner authorized by ASSKEA GmbH!
Damage to the devices due to insufficient acclimatization
After the devices have been exposed to temperatures between
-20 °C and +60 °C during transport / storage according to the
technical data (see section 8), they must first acclimatize for ca.
2 h at room temperature (ca. 20 °C) before the use as intended
is possible.
4.1 Set-up and start-up
The following sections describe the operating elements, connections
and the start-up of the ASSKEA secretion aspirators M- and S-series:

4.1.1 Connecting the ASSKEA secretion aspirators S-series

Check the mains cable for any damage and replace it immedi-
ately if damaged.
For the mains-operated aspiration devices, use the mains connection
(fig. 1(G)) to connect the device to the mains power supply with the
aid of the mains cable. Make sure that the device is positioned in such
a way that it is possible to easily disconnect it later. First connect the
mains cable to the mains connection of the ASSKEA secretion aspira-
tor S-series and then to the mains power supply. Information on the
permissible environmental conditions during operation can be found
in section 8 "Technical data".
