In rare cases, this can initially make a
whistling noise. This is not a malfunc-
tion and stops after a while.

Setting the suction force

There are two ways to adjust the suction
power of your appliance to the surface to be
vacuumed:
– using the buttons (27) and (28) on the han-
dle (12);
– using the buttons (24) and (25) on the ap-
pliance.
For both options:
• Press the button with the "+" symbol ((24)
or (28)) to increase the suction power.
• Press the button with the "-" symbol ((25)
or (27)) to decrease the suction power.
The corresponding pictogram on the control
panel (5) of the appliance will light up.
Curtains, delicate surfaces.

Furniture
Pillows, duvets etc.
High-quality carpets, rugs and
runners
Lightly soiled carpets and hard floors
Heavily soiled carpets and hard
floors
The highest setting
Operation
You can further reduce the suction force as
needed with the air by-pass vent (15). The
covering of the air by-pass vent (15) can be
adjusted as desired.

Finishing vacuuming

WARNING

Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■ Never pull the mains plug out of the
socket by the mains cord, always hold
the mains plug itself.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the appliance
may result in injury.
■ Hold onto the mains cord when wind-
ing it up. By forcefully retracting the
mains cord this can cause a "whip-
ping effect" (on account of the mains
cord swinging uncontrollably).
