4. Remove the dust bag (44) from the hold-
er (45).
5. Dispose of the dust bag in your house-
hold waste.
6. Insert a new dust bag (44) in the hold-
er (45).
The dust bag compartment can only be
closed when there is a dust bag (44) in the
holder (45).
7. Close the cover (9) of the dust bag com-
partment again. Make sure that the dust
bag is not stuck anywhere.
Cleaning the motor protection
filter
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■ Before cleaning the motor protection
fi lter, always pull the mains plug out
of the socket.
■ Never pull the mains plug out of the
socket by the mains cord, always hold
the mains plug itself.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Using the appliance without fi lters or
with unsuitable fi lters may damage the
appliance.
■ Correct functioning of the appliance
can only be guaranteed if suitable
motor protection fi lters are used.
■ Never vacuum without a motor pro-
tection fi lter or with one that is dam-
aged. Dust which has been vacuumed
up can get inside the appliance and
damage the motor.
■ Never dry the frame of the motor
protection fi lter on a heater or with a
hairdryer or tumble dryer, etc. It will
become porous and can be damaged.
■ Do not wash the frame of the motor
protection fi lter in the washing ma-
chine.
■ Only air-dry the frame of the motor
protection fi lter.
1. Pull the mains plug (40) out of the socket.
2. Pull the opening tab (10) for the dust bag
compartment cover (9) and swing the
cover upwards.
3. Pull the dust bag out, as described in
"Cleaning or changing the dust bag" on
page EN-17.
