5. PREPARING THE DEVICE

When turning on the IMPERIAL PBB 2 for the first time, please proceed as follows:
The right location
1. Choose a location where the device can be positioned securely. This place should be even, dry
and easy to reach.
2. Ensure that the PBB 2 has sufficient ventilation during operation.

5.1 Mains operation

1. Only connect the PBB 2 to the mains power using a properly installed plug socket
(AC 220-230V 50/60Hz).
2. Please only use the cable provided to connect the PBB 2 to the plug socket.
3. Ensure that the battery compartment is empty if the device is being operated via a plug socket.

5.2 Battery operation

The radio can be operated using batteries if required.
When turning on the IMPERIAL PBB 2 for the first time, please proceed as follows:
The right location
1. Open the battery compartment on the base of the device.
2. Insert 6 1.5V type UM-2 (size C) (LR 20) batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring the
correct polarity (see the embossed symbols on the base of the compartment).
3. Then seal the battery compartment again.
PLEASE NOTE!
Please always use the same type of battery.
Ensure that all batteries used have the same level of charge.
Never mix new and old batteries.

5.3 Removing transport protection

The CD player laser unit is packed in transport protection packing, which must be removed before first use.
Open the CD player and remove the laser transport packing.
