Instructions for use

Safety information
1.1 General
Please read these instructions and all warnings before op-
erating the device and comply with the recommenda-
tions in the chapter entitled „Hygiene" (see overleaf).
Use the VORTEX
the purpose described in these instructions.
1.2 Warnings
- Always follow the instructions for use supplied with
the medication and the dosing nebuliser as well.
- In order to prevent a risk to health, e.g. an infection
occurring through a contaminated nebuliser, and to
minimise any risk of inadequate treatment, you must
clean, disinfect, dry and store all parts in accordance
with the instructions in the chapter entitled „Hygiene"
(see overleaf).
- This product must be used by one patient only (no
change of patients, even after the hygiene measures
as described in the chapter entitled „Hygiene" have
been carried out).
- This product includes small parts, which could present
a danger of choking for children. Keep this product
out of reach of children aged under three at all times.
- All product parts must be firmly attached during use.
Otherwise, the delivery of medication may be insuffi-
cient.
- To limit the risk of improper treatment, please use only
PARI accessories, such as masks. If any parts are dam-
aged or missing, replace the product.

The VORTEX
Antistatic Holding Chamber consists of the following
parts:
(A) Antistatic nebuliser holder
(B) Mouthpiece
(C) Expiratory valve
(D) Connecting ring with opening for the mouthpiece of the
dosing nebuliser
(E) Dosing nebuliser
(must be purchased separately; not included in the package;
not a PARI product)
(F) PARI mask
(may be used instead of the mouthpiece; must be purchased
separately; not included in the package)

• Before each use, inspect the VORTEX
ber for the presence of foreign bodies and damage.

• Shake the dosing nebuliser or MDI (E) vigorously.
• Remove the sealing cap.
Please follow the instructions for use included with your dosing
nebuliser or MDI (E).

• Insert the mouthpiece of the dosing nebuliser (E) into the special-
ly provided connecting ring (D) on the VORTEX

• Place the mouthpiece (B) in your mouth. Or, place the mask (F)
so that it covers your mouth and nose.

• Operate the dosing nebuliser (E) in accordance with the instruc-
tions for use.
• Breathe in slowly and deeply.
• Hold your breath briefly.
• Then breathe out slowly.
If you are using the mask (F), ensure that it is fitting snugly.

Pause, and follow the directions in the dosing nebuliser's instruc-
tions for use before you repeat the steps shown in illustrations
