Installation on a horizontal line
There is a mark on the sensor head which shows the flow
direction of the media. The sensor needs to be installed in
this direction.
Mark for the installation into a pipe
The sensor must be fitted to the pipe at least 2 meters (6.6 ft)
away from stray light sources (such as sight glasses).

Operation

In case of any failure or malfunction, the equipment in which
the sensor is installed, needs to be in a safe condition (de-
pressurized, empty, rinse, vent, etc.).
6 Maintenance: Cleaning the sensor head
The measurement principle provides a large degree of com-
pensation for contamination of the sensor head. However,
the contamination can become so severe, depending on the
operating conditions and media, that the compensation is
no longer adequate and the sensor head must be cleaned.
1. P lace the system or equipment in a safe state (depressu-
rized, empty, rinsed, vented or ventilated, etc.)
2. D isconnect electrical power
3. D ismount the sensor from process
4. C lean the sensor head using a soft, lint-free cloth and
a mild cleaning agent
5. I nstall the sensor

Disposal

It is the user's responsibility to dispose of the
sensor in a professional manner. This sensor
contains electronic components that require
special disposal without any hazard for hu-
mans, and with no risk of harm to the envi-
ronment. Please observe the applicable local or national
regulations concerning the disposal of "waste electrical and
electronic equipment".
