Precisely follow all instructions given in this manual.
Please particularly observe all text passages that
are marked with this symbol. These are notes that
are of particular importance for operation of the
system and for your personal safety.
Usage of the Ocean Line Combi does not release you from the
responsibility for your boat and requires good seamanship.
Always use your seamanlike experience to interpret the indicated
values!
Safety instructions for installation:
You should have the installation of the components carried out by your
shipyard or by a specialist.
If you undertake the work yourself, be sure to wear suitable work
clothes. Do not wear loose clothing. If you have long hair, be sure to
wear a hair net. Clothing and hair can be caught in movable and
rotating parts.
It is impermissible to wear metallic or conductible jewellery such as
chains, bracelets, rings etc. when working on the board electronics.
The negative pole of the battery must be branched off prior to starting
work, in order to avoid the risk of a short circuit. Short circuits can
cause cable fires, battery explosions and damage to other electronic
systems. When branching off the battery, please pay attention that all
nonretentive memories lose their entered values and must be
reprogrammed. The VDO instruments are equipped with retentive
memories.
Explosion hazard! With petrol-operated engines, let the
engine compartment ventilator run prior to starting work in
the engine compartment.
Ensure that there is sufficient free space behind the installation port at
the place of installation. Pilot drill installation port using a drill and
complete using a compass saw or pad saw (observe hand tool
manufacturers safety instructions).
