i
An acoustic signal sounds to indicate that the
position has been registered.
i Block the wheel with the pedal.
2. Attach the balance weight at the highest vertical
position (12 o'clock) of the wheel.
i
The internal weight can be either a spring-clip
weight of an adhesive weight according to the
selected balancing program.
See chap. "Attaching clip-on balance weights" to fix
the spring-clip weights.
For attaching adhesive balance weights using the
balance weight positioning gauge, see sec. "Using
the balance weight positioning gauge".
External weight fixing:
1. Turn the wheel by hand.
 Once the correct position for attaching a bal-
ance weight has been reached, the monitor will
show a green symbol.

9.9.2
ALU2 (PAX2) and ALU3
i
Only the 3 programs Alu2, Alu3 and Pax2 support
the attachment of the adhesive balance weights
using the electronic rim distance gauge or the laser
indicator mount.
i
The type of attachment for the balance weight can
only be selected in the machine settings menu (see
sec. "Machine settings").

Balancing a wheel | MT 857 L | 79
1. Turn the wheel by hand.

i
An acoustic signal sounds to indicate that the
position has been registered.
i Block the wheel with the pedal.
2. If a clamping balance weight (ALU3) is used, attach
the balance weight in the uppermost perpendicular
position (12 o'clock) of the wheel. If an adhesive
balance weight or the laser indicator mount (ALU2
and PAX2) is used, use the electronic rim distance
gauge instead.
i
For adhesive weight, the application position is
determined by electronic calliper gauge geometry.

See chap. "Attaching clip-on balance weights" to fix
the spring-clip weights.
When fastening adhesive weights with electronic
calliper gauge, see chap. "With the electronic rim
distance gauge".
For attaching adhesive balance weights using the
laser mount, see sec "Attaching adhesive balance
weights using the laser indicator".
3. Use the same procedure for the remaining balancing
plane.
9.9.3
Splitting the balancing weights (Split program)
i
The external weight hidden behind the spokes can
be applied for non-standard programs (ALU2, ALU3,
Pax2).
