If it is awkward to access the filter bowl, the gas filter
may be installed at a forward-facing angle of up to 30°
(Figure 7). This makes it easier to handle the filter bowl when
the filter is being replaced.

– Use a spanner (AF 23) to tighten the union nut between the
gas filter (Figure 3 - 5) and the adapter (Figure 3 - 7) with
13.5 - 16.5 Nm.
– Use a spanner (AF 23) to tighten the union nut between
the MonoControl CS T (Figure 3 - 3) and the gas filter
(Figure 3 - 5) with 13.5 - 16.5 Nm. Use a spanner (AF 18)
to brace against the gas pressure regulator.
When the union nut has been tightened, do not twist
the complete unit. Twisting can result in leaking con-
nections and/or cause the crash sensor to sit at an angle.

Installing the gas pipe

Use appropriate protection (soft inserts, rubber bushings,
bulkhead unions) to prevent gas pipes chafing at fasten-
ing and connection points.
– Insert a rubber bushing in the opening for the gas pipe
(Figure 5 - 1) in the fitting box (not included in the scope of
delivery) (Figure 5 - 2).
Install the gas pipe, gas pressure regulator and gas
filter so that there is no strain.
– Connect the gas pipe to the outlet of the gas pressure reg-
ulator according to the applicable installation instructions
for olive screw connections (e.g. EN ISO 8434-1). Use a
spanner (AF 19) to tighten the connection and carefully use
a second spanner (AF 20) to brace against the flats.
Truma can supply a straight reducer union RST 10 x RVS 8
as an accessory for 30 mbar systems with 8 mm gas pipes.

Final work

– When installation is complete, an expert must check the
complete gas system for correct installation and leaks with
suitable means – such as leak detector spray according to
EN 14291.
– If a gas testing certificate has already been issued, it must
be supplemented / updated accordingly.
This test does not replace the regularly scheduled
gas check!
