4. Measurements – General Functions

4.1 Auto Power Off

To save battery power, the meter automatically switches off after 15 minutes
when the rotary function / range switch has not been operated or when no
other key has been pressed during that time. Press any key to reactivate the
meter.
Press and hold the function key FUNC (3) while switching on the unit to
disable the auto power off function.

4.2 Overflow Display

If the measured value exceeds the range limit of the set measuring range, the
word "O.L" appears in the middle of the display. In this case, immediately
remove the measuring leads from the device under test or, if possible, select a
higher measuring range.

4.3 Undefined Displays

With open measuring inputs or by contact to the measuring inputs by hand, it
can lead to undefined displays. This is not a malfunction, but a reaction of the
sensitive input on existing noise voltages.
Normally, without high noise levels at the work place and when having a short
circuit on the measuring input, the display immediately shows 00.0. Respec-
tively when the test object is connected again, the exact measured value is
displayed again. Due to the system, fluctuations of ±1 digit are within the
tolerance.
If the resistance range or continuity testing function has been selected, the
overflow marking will appear on the display when measuring inputs are open.
