4.1 AC and DC Voltage Measurement

1. Connect the red measuring cable to the V/Ω/F/°C/
the black measuring cable to the COM-Input (8).
2. Set the rotary switch (4) to the position required for AC and DC
measurements (V
is displayed and according to the selected type of voltage "AC~" for
AC voltage or "DC
the selected range (200 mV, 2 V, 20 V, and 200 V) is displayed.
3. Hold the probe tips against the circuit or component you intend to
test, for DC if possible with correct polarity (red to plus and black to
minus).
4. Now you can read the result from the LC display (1). In the case of
a negative result, the minus symbol appears to the left of displayed
value. If necessary, reverse the polarity by switching the probes.
Notes
:
If the voltage which will be encountered cannot be estimated,
always start with the highest range and work down to the smaller
ones.
If the unit displays an overflow "1" after connection to the test
object, immediately remove the probe tips from the measuring
object, after turning it off if possible.
When the measurement cables are connected to the unit in idle
state (i.e. without being connected to a device to be measured), a
fluctuating value may be displayed in the LCD due to the high
sensitivity of the device. When a measurement is performed how-
ever, the displayed value corresponds exactly to the specified
accuracy of the unit.
The unit has an input impedance of 10 MΩ in all measuring modes.
