16. General Use, Maintenance, Care

Your digital multimeter is a high precision instrument and should be treated
accordingly. Open only to if you have to replace the fuse or the battery. Turn it
off before and remove the leads from the circuit under test. Due to the high
integration of the device and the risk of affecting the accuracy, you never
should modify or repair the device. For repair and calibration service, contact
our customer service.
Do not expose the device to water, dust, sand, dirt and extreme temperatures.
All these factors cause damage and shorten the life of electric contacts,
batteries, body parts, switches and electronic components. Only use full and
leak-proof batteries such as Alkaline types.
Do not use corrosive chemicals for cleaning in order not to damage the
surfaces, the label and the display window.

17. Exchanging the Fuse

Warning! Turn off the unit and remove all
measuring leads from the input sockets,
before opening the meter! Only replace the
internal fuse with a fuse of the same type.
Never use a fuse designed for higher
currents. Never use a temporary solution!
There is a risk of accidents which can lead to
destruction of the device and void the
warranty.
1. Unscrew the two screws from the battery
compartment at the rear side of the meter
and remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Remove the meter from the protective casing

3. Unscrew the two additional screws of the
housing and carefully open the housing of the
meter.
4. The 0.5 A fuse (0.5 A / 250 V FAST) is
located on the circuit board at the bottom end in a socket.
5. Replace the defective fuse. Do not adjust or modify any internal regulators
or potentiometers, while the unit is opened.
6. Mount the unit in reverse order.
7. Continue using the unit only when it has been completely mounted and
after all assembly work has been done.
