To maintain the precision of the meter, never connect the measuring
probes with a power source. This can have a negative effect on the charac-
teristic specifications of the meter.
When there is no input, for example in open circuit condition or when the
measuring inputs are touched by hand, the meter may show undefined
display or the overflow display "O.L".

8. Continuity Measurements

The continuity test allows the testing of circuits, wires, components etc. to
electrical continuity (i.e., resistance values below 50 Ω).
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack (8) and the red test lead to the
V/Ω/Hz/
/
2. Set the rotary function / range switch (5) to the
3. Press the function key FUNC (3) until the display shows the
4. Connect the test leads to the circuit to be measured. If the circuit resistance
is lower than 50 Ω, the built-in buzzer will sound and the LCD displays the
resistance value of the circuit under test.
Note:
Before performing in-circuit continuity tests, make sure that the circuit under
test has all power removed and all capacitors are fully discharged.

9. Capacitance Measurements

Warning! Discharge any capacitor before measurement! Do not
discharge the capacitor by a short circuit, but by bridging the connec-
tions using a 100 kΩ resistor (depending on the size of the capacitor).
Never connect the measuring probes of the meter to a power source if you
have selected the capacitance measuring range as this will damage the
meter.
Before a capacity measurement, measure to safety whether a capacitor still
is charged (use V DC area).
