Filter: This function is used to filter pool water and should be positioned here 99% of the time. Water is pumped through the sand filter, where
it is cleaned and returned to the pool.
Backwash: This function is used to clean the sand bed; water is pumped down through the Water Distributor, upwards through the sand bed,
and deposited out of Port D.
Rinse: This function is for initial startup, cleaning, and sand bed leveling after Backwash; water is pumped downwards through the sand bed,
up through the Water Distributor and deposited out of the valve Port D.
Circulate: This function circulates pool water bypassing the sand filter; use this function if the filter is broken to collect debris in the
connection valve.
Drain: This function drains water from the pool; by using another filter bypass setting, water is pumped and deposited out of Port D, instead of
returning it to the pool.
NOTE: When the Control Valve is set to the Backwash, Rinse, or Drain position, water will discharge from Port D on the Control Valve.
Be sure all provisions for waste water disposal meet applicable local, state or national codes. Do not discharge water where it will cause
flooding or damage.
Closed: This function stops water flowing between the sand filter and the pool.
NOTE: Do not plug-in or operate the sand filter with the Control Valve set to the Closed function or it will seriously damage the sand filter.
Sand Filter Installation
Section I: Assembly
1. Carefully remove all components from the package and check to ensure nothing is damaged. The hoses are in the tank, take out the two hoses from the tank
before assemble the sand filter. If equipment is damaged, immediately notify the retailer from where the equipment was purchased.
2. The sand filter should be placed on solid, level ground, preferably a concrete slab. Position the sand filter so the Ports and Control Valve are accessible for
operation, servicing and winterizing.
3. Load pool-grade filter sand.
NOTE: Use only special pool-grade filter sand, free of all limestone or clay: #20 Silica sand 0.45-0.55mm, approximately one 45kg bag should suffice. Use
of other sands will reduce filtering performance and may damage the sand filter, thereby voiding the warranty.
a. Place the Sand Cover onto the tank and make sure to cover the Water Distributor.(See Fig.4)
b. Slowly, add the sand so the weight of the sand dose not damage the Water Collector until it reaches the top rim of the tank. (See Fig.5)
NOTE: SAND IS NOT INCLUDED.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the Water Collector when adding sand, pour some water into the bottom tank to submerse the Water Collector.
c. Remove the Sand Cover and wash away any sand from the around the rim of the tank and place the O-ring on the rim of the tank. (See Fig.6)
NOTE: Make sure the O-ring on the rim of the tank is clean and has no nicks, tears, or scrapes or sand on it.
d. Attach the Control Valve to the tank, ensure that the vertical pipe of the Water Distributor is inserted into the base of the Control Valve (See Fig.7).
e. Position the Control Valve onto the tank with the flange clamp and tighten the flange clamp screw. (See Fig.8)
NOTE: Before tightening the Control Valve, align Port C on the Control Valve with Port C on the pump. (See Fig.9)
f. Connect the Pressure Gauge onto the Control Valve.
4. Attach the Piping to pump Port C and to Control Valve Port C, screw the threaded locking rings into position. (See Fig.10)
NOTE: Make sure the Piping Washers are properly positioned on both ends of the Piping.
