Avoiding damage to materials, property and the device

■ Always place the device on a dry, level, fi rm and heat resistant surface.
■ Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of a table or kitchen worktop. Someone
could catch him/herself and pull down the device.
■ Only use the device if it has been correctly assembled! Each time before use, check
whether the water tank has been correctly inserted and whether the fi lter has been
properly loaded and inserted!
■ Never use the device if there is no water in the water tank!
■ Never add milk or other liquids to the water tank. Only use water to make coffee!
■ Never use the device unless there is a suitable container under the coffee spout.
■ Never place the glass pot on a hot stovetop or other hot surfaces.
■ Never use the device when the glass pot is damaged. Only use the glass pot with
this device.
■ Let the device cool down for at least 10 minutes after each use before adding fresh
coffee.
■ When the device is on, the hotplate switches off automatically after 40 minutes and
remains very hot in this period.
■ Never fi ll the hot glass pot with ice cold water.
■ Only use accessories included in the product contents or exclusively those recom-
mended by the manufacturer.
■ Do not place the device under cupboards or similar. It could be damage by rising
steam!
■ Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong percussions.
■ Do not pull or carry the device by the cord.
■ Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperature,
moisture, wetness or direct sunlight.
■ Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. They
could damage the surface.
Hygienic notes
■ The device and accessories may have residues from production. To avoid health
risks, clean the device and all accessories before fi rst use. For this, observe the
cleaning notes in the chapters "Before fi rst use" and "Cleaning and storage".
■ Only use fresh drinking water. Do not use any water from a bath tub, sink or other
containers.
■ Keep the device clean.
