Risks of injury

■ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
■ Scalding hazard! Hot steam is produced when in use. Keep your hands and head
away from the steam vents during use.
■ Danger of burns! After turning the device off, the hotplate stays hot for some time.Do
not touch it or place objects on it.
■ Burn hazard! Do not move the device during the brewing process.
■ Do not use the device if it is damaged.
■ The freshly prepared beverages are hot; be careful when handling hot liquids.
■ Lay the cable so that it does not pose a tripping hazard.
■ Never reach into the blades of the grinding mechanism – they are sharp!
■ Never fi ll water into a machine that is already on. In the worst case, you could scald
yourself on a sudden burst of steam.
■ The hotplate gets very hot. Do not touch it or place objects on it.

Danger of Electric Shock and Fire

■ Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts.
The socket must also be easily accessible after connecting so that the mains connec-
tion can be quickly disconnected. The mains voltage must correspond to the techni-
cal data of the device. Only use proper extension cords, whose technical data cor-
respond to those of the device.
■ Lay the mains cord in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does
not come into contact with hot surfaces (this also applies to the hot surfaces of the
device!).
■ Never immerse the device, the mains cord and the plug in water or other liquids and
make sure that there is no risk of them falling in water or getting wet.
■ If the device falls in water, immediately disconnect the power supply. Do not attempt
to pull the device out of the water when it is connected to the mains supply!
■ Never touch the device, the mains cord and the mains plug with wet hands when
these components are connected to the mains supply.
■ Turn the device off and pull the mains plug out of the socket if a fault occurs during
operation or before a storm.
■ Always pull on the plug itself and never on the mains cord!
■ Only use the device in enclosed areas.
■ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily fl ammable dust or toxic and explo-
sive vapours.
■ Maintain adequate distance to heat sources such as stoves or ovens to prevent dam-
age to the device. Do not place any open fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the direct
vicinity of the device, cord and plug.
■ Do not operate the device in very moist environment or in the vicinity of fl ammable
material.
