5. Minute:Button for setting the minute display.
6. 2 – 10 Tassen (Cups):Button for setting the number of cups to be brewed. You can set the
number of cups by pressing the button several times. A number between 2 and 10 will ap-
pear on the display indicating the current number of cups selected.
7. Kaffeestärke (Coffee strength): Button for adjusting the coffee strength. 1 (mild), 2 (moder-
ate) or 3 (strong) "coffee beans" will appear once this button has been pressed several times
( ).
8. AUTO: Button for activating the timer function: A clock symbol will appear on the display
once the timer is activated. The brewing process will start once the set time is reached.
Prior to fi rst use
Before using the device for the fi rst time you must:
• unpack the product contents,
• clean the device.

Unpacking the product contents

ATTENTION!
❐ Keep children and pets away from the packaging. Danger of suffocation exists!
Unpack all parts and make sure that the product contents are complete (see chapter "Product
contents and device overview") and check for any damages from transport. If you identify dam-
ages to the components, do not use them (!), instead contact our customer service centre.

Cleaning the device

ATTENTION!
❐ When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners. They could damage the surface!
1. Push the release button for the fi lter compartment. The fi lter compartment will swing open.
2. Remove the fi lter compartment insert and the permanent fi lter.
3. Clean the fi lter compartment insert and the permanent fi lter with warm water and a small
amount of detergent if necessary.
4. Then dry the fi lter compartment insert and the permanent fi lter and place it back in the
coffee maker.
5. We recommend running through the brewing process with water three times before using
the device for the fi rst time (without coffee) in order to clean out the lines etc. Make sure
that you have activated the Mahlen aus (Grinder off) function when rinsing the device out
with water. Before using the device for the fi rst time, also be sure to observe the notes in
the chapter "Use".
