k) Attaching the carrying strap
You can transport the meter with the aid of the carrying strap and hang it around your neck.
• For this, secure the carrying strap to the holder for the carrying strap (1) on the front of the
meter. Use the buckle to secure it.

Replacing the membrane cap

Never touch the membrane cap as oils in the skin can impair the oxygen permeability
of the membrane. The probe base with electrodes is best left in the meter during the
replacement process. Handle the membrane cap with care.
1. Remove the protective probe cap and carefully unscrew the membrane cap from the probe.
2. Rinse old electrode solution from the probe.
3. Use the polishing strips provided to clean, polish and/or remove scratches from the cathode.
Move it over the polishing strips in a light figure-of-eight motion. Moisten the cathode before
polishing. Do not rub down the sensitive gold cathode when polishing; exercise great care
and do not press heavily.
4. Place the replacement membrane cap (2x included) on a level surface and leave the cap in
this position during the replacement.
5. Fill the membrane cap with the electrolyte solution as far as the thread on the inside.
6. Immerse the electrode in the electrolyte solution several times, removing it each time to
remove air bubbles. Finally, screw the electrode back onto the measuring probe slowly as
far as it will go.
7. It is normal for excess electrolyte solution to emerge during replacement. Remove any over-
flowing electrolyte by wiping with a cloth.
