b) Operating with a power adapter
•
If you would like to operate the meter with a power adapter, note the information provided
in "Technical specifications".
•
Read the power adapter operating instructions carefully and observe the safety instructions
in particular.
•
Connect the connector of a suitable power adapter to the low-voltage connection (11) on
the meter.
•
You can connect the meter to the power adapter and use the power adapter for power when
the batteries are inserted.
c) Commissioning
The electrodes of the external measuring probe at the end of the cable must be kept moist to
ensure accuracy over the long term. If you find a small quantity of liquid in the membrane cap
of the measuring probe on delivery, it is perfectly normal. If no liquid is visible, it must be filled
after initial commissioning.
•
To do this, add a small quantity of the electrolyte supplied to the membrane cap. Proceed
as follows to fill:
•
Remove the protective probe cap and unscrew the membrane cap.
•
Place the membrane cap on a level surface.
•
Ensure that the membrane cap with electrolyte cannot fall over. If this does happen, wipe
up the liquid with an absorbent cloth and dispose of the cloth in the household waste. Wash
your hands carefully with water and soap.
•
Fill the electrolyte up to the bottom of the screw thread on the membrane cap. Also pay
attention to these instructions when topping up the electrolyte.
•
Insert the electrodes into the filled membrane cap by immersing them a few times and
removing them again. Immerse them slightly deeper each time until you can screw them in.
Repeated immersion and removal prevents the entrapment of air bubbles in the electrolyte,
as these can impact the accuracy and validity of the measurements.
•
Screw the membrane cap tight as far as it will go.
•
It is normal for superfluous electrolyte to emerge as the membrane cap wears. Use a cloth
to wipe away any leaking electrolyte before use.
The electrode on the measuring probe must not be allowed to dry out again after initial
commissioning.
•
If the electrolyte becomes depleted, it can be ordered as an accessory using Conrad item
no. 1763049.
