4-4 REPLACING A WHEEL

After a certain period of use it becomes
necessary to replace one or more
wheels. Take off the old wheel after
removing the two screws (V) and re-
place it with a new one.
4-5 REPLACING THE REDUC-
TION GEAR RING OR OTHER
SUMP INTERNAL GEAR
In time the reduction gear tends to wear
out causing unwanted clearance and
noise. Internal gears are less likely to
require replacement. For any replace-
ment perform the operations listed be-
low. Also refer to the exploded view in
the following chapter 7.
1) Remove the Feed unit from the sup-
port.
2) Remove the motor after loosening
the 4 fastening screws.
3) Overturn the Feed unit and empty
the oil into a container for subse-
quent disposal. Do not throw the oil
away but hand it over to somebody
equipped for its disposal (e.g. a me-
chanic).
4) Open the door as shown in the ex-
ploded view and pull out the shaft-
ring-gear group concerned.
5) Use an extractor to disassemble the
group, beginning with the bearings.
6) Reassemble the group under the
press after fitting the new compo-
nent and perform steps 5) and 4) in
reverse order paying special atten-
tion to the condition and correct fit-
ting of the gaskets.
7) Top up with oil as described in para-
graph 4-2 and carefully reassemble
the motor.

4-7 CLEANING THE FEED UNIT

Periodically clean the Feed unit with a
dry cloth or brush to remove the dust
or sawings deposited during operation.
Avoid using solvents and other sub-
stances capable of causing malfunc-
tions.
Do not use compressed air to remove
deposits of dirt.
