3.2.1 Calibration cap

To calibrate the Rugged 2 a certifi ed white standard is
supplied. This standard is traceable to the normal of the
PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) and comes
with a certifi cate from the PTB.
To enable a reliable and consistent
calibration the PTB standard
is precisely fi tted
dust proof housing -
the calibration cap.
The white standard for the probe head is made
of a very matt surface. It must not be touched.
If the surfaced is contaminated it will aff ect the
absolute values. This is critical when measuring
against stored standards. Please always return the
calibration cap with the device for servicing.

3.3
The Rugged 2 spectrophotometer has an optional integrated
data matrix scanner. The internal camera can read any
modern 1D and 2D codes and is used to program the
Rugged 2 with information about the colour sample being
measure or for automatically selecting a standard.
