4.9 SIDE TRANSMISSION

Motive power is transmitted to the rotor by belts whose
tension can be regulated.
Periodically, and in case of malfunction or slipping, check
the tension of the transmission belts and un case replace.
4.10 REPLACING AND TENSIONING THE
BELTS
Worn belts become stretched. To correctly distribute the
forces, they must therefore always be replaced together.
As follows:
- Remove the bolts that fi x: 1) the protective casing side
protection (A fi g.22). 2) the protective casing (B fi g.22).
Open the casing by pulling it outwards.
- Loosen the bolts that fi x the overdrive to the structure
(C fi g.23 (N.4) + C fi g.24 (N.2).
- Work on the adjuster screw (D fi g.24 (N.2) in order to
correctly tighten the belts, or loosen them in order to replace
the belts.
- Check the pulley alignment once the belts have been
tightened (fi g.25).
- Tighten all slackened bolts.
- Remount the casing and fi x it in place with the previously
removed bolts (A-B fi g.22).
ATTENTION
When regulating the belt tension, pay particular atten-
tion to the level state of the pulleys.
Press on the middle part of the belt between the two
pulleys with a 5 Kg force. Each belt should give 1
cm (fi g.25). In this respect we recommend placing an
adequately long metallic ruler on the edges of the two
pulleys (see broken line fi g.25).
The ruler should touch all four borders of the pulleys.
ATTENTION
All maintenance work, adjustments and preparation for
operation, must be carried out with the power take-off of
the tractor disconnected, the machine on the ground on
its supporting feet, the tractor not running, the wheels
blocked and the key turned off.
