18 TROUBLESHOOTING

Fault
Engine does not start up
Engine performance decreases
Engine runs irregularly
Mower will not move forward
Driving speed cannot be
regulated (only with VARIO drive)
Extreme vibration
Cut not clean,
lawn turns yellow
Possible cause
Control handle not turned down.
Fuel tank empty.
Spark plug connector loose.
Spark plug defective or soiled or
electrodes worn out.
Too much petrol feed to engine
(spark plug wet).
Air filter soiled.
Battery not charged (only for electro-
start).
Start-up takes longer than 5 seconds
or is repeated too often (only for
electro-start).
Connection cable between the
ignition key, battery and engine is
loose or without contact (only for
electro-start).
Air filter dirty.
Spark plug contaminated with soot.
Air filter dirty.
Spark plug contaminated with soot.
Drive control bracket not pulled.
Cutting blade blunt.
Cutting height too low.
Motor speed too low.
Mowing speed too high.
Insufficient overlap between mowing
lanes.
Lawn matted.

Remedy
Press the control handle onto the upper
part of the bar D .
Fill up with clean and fresh fuel.
Push plug connector in place or have it
checked by an authorised workshop.
Replace or clean spark plug, set electrode
distance to 0.7 mm Y .
Have it checked by an authorised
workshop.
Clean or replace air filter insert W .
Charge battery W1 , X1 .
If you experience start difficulties, contrary
to expectations, the battery must also be
charged in between.
Connect the battery connector with the
mating connector on the harness U1 or
check it or have it checked by an authorised
workshop.
